A SOUTHAMPTON theatre has been transformed to show support for a Hampshire charity.

Fundraising manager for the new Titchfield-based Haven Clinic support centre, Sally Hillyear, got in touch with local businesses to show their support for the charity.

And The Mayflower in Southampton was keen to lend a hand.

Sally said: “The theatre has been great and said that they would support us in any way they could.

“They are doing a cake sale and a bucket collection during the performance Stomp, which is a very popular show.”

Along with the theatre, Eastleigh’s council offices on Upper Market Road and Condor’s offices on Bournemouth Road will be lit up pink to support the charity.

The Haven, a breast cancer support charity, opened up its new clinic today with a celebration event.

Chief executive of the charity, Pamela Healy, said: "It is truly fantastic to be here today to open this centre.

"The new (clinic) is a great place and we put it in Titchfield because we understand that many people from Southampton and Portsmouth may travel to London to get support. We wanted to be centrally ion between so people from around the region can come here to get support."

Fareham Borough Council deputy mayor, Cllr Connie Hockley, also attended the event and said she is delighted that the region now has a place like Haven where it can go to receive help and support.

The charity has four clinics across the country in London, Leeds, Hereford and now Titchfield.

The Haven supports members of the public who suffer from breast cancer, and is a place where people go to relax and talk to specialists for advice.
