THEY took to the stage and sang their hearts out to raise vital awareness of a cause close to their hearts.

A group of community fundraisers, collectively known as Caden’s Fight, put on a live music event called Breathe In, Sing Out! to raise money for Southampton Hospital Charity and the Cystic Fibrosis Trust.

With singing known to help sufferers, they decided to highlight the cause through music.

Breathe In, Sing Out! featured performances from a range of artists such as singer Shirin, Open Mic UK winner Iain Scott and the UK’s leading pop and soul choir Love Soul Choir.

Cystic Fibrosis sufferer Charles Michael Duke, currently on the transplant waiting list, also took to the stage.

The live music was interjected with emotional videos featuring Cystic Fibrosis sufferers and their families.

Matt Bond, co-founder of Caden’s Fight, said: “We hope that one day CF will stand for ‘Cure Found’ and will keep fighting until it does.”

Trustee of the Cystic Fibrosis Trust, David Turner, said: “I was blown away by the sheer quality of the acts at ‘Breathe In, Sing Out’, and the enthusiasm of the performers and the audience to make a real difference for everyone affected by cystic fibrosis.

“Very few people truly understand what it is like living with cystic fibrosis, or how common the faulty gene which causes the disease is.

“Not only is it raising badly needed funds, Caden’s Fight is doing a brilliant job in increasing awareness of the condition.

“Everyone in the CF community owes a big thank you to the organisers and performers. The passion and commitment on display really will help us beat cystic fibrosis for good!”
