TWO POPULAR Southampton businesses will be doing their bit for the community this Christmas.
Affree Affricardo from Affricardo Barber Shop and Maxine Constable from the firm’s ladies salon in Commercial Road will be offering free haircuts to the homeless on Boxing Day.
It follows the success of last year’s event when they helped out around twenty homeless people.
Shirley Robinson from Spice World on St Mary’s Street will also be serving meals to the visitors.
Affricardo, 38, said: “It is giving something back to the homeless as we are part of the community. I have a lot of sympathy with the homeless as you know how people can fall on hard times. Having a haircut makes you feel good about yourself.”
He is also urging people to donate goods for the homeless such as gloves, socks and hats.
