A SOUTHAMPTON gym is offering free passes for workers taking part in a triathlon in aid of youngsters with learning difficulties.
Budding athletes competing in the Rose Road Corporate Triathlon will now get a two-week pass at the David Lloyd gym to help with their training.
Organised by Southampton based The Rose Road Association, it’s hoped the Daily Echo backed sporting event will raise more than £25,000 for the charity on July 3.
David Little, general manager of David Lloyd Southampton on Frogmore Lane, said: “We’re great supporters of the excellent work Rose Road does in the local community and look forward to welcoming the triathlon teams here to help with their training.”
Staff at businesses across Hampshire are being urged to get their swimming costumes out, trainers on and bikes dusted off for the gruelling challenge consisting of consist of a 200-metre swim, a 7.5-mile cycle and a 2.5-mile run.
Places are now open for 24 teams to take part in the event – organised by Totton Running Club and the audit and finance director at CW Fellowes, Bruce Elkins – on Saturday, July 3 at Hounsdown School, Totton.
