IT will definitely be a high stakes poker game requiring a cool head.
But casino employee Andrew Bailey is hedging his bets that he can pull off the highest tournament in history.
He is joining a team planning to play at 3,500ft on the peak of Mount Snowdon, in Wales, and raise £10,000 for Marie Curie Cancer Care.
The 34-year-old food and drinks manager at Grosvenor Casino, in West Quay Road, Southamp-ton, said: “Playing a game at the top is going to be a bit of fun – although I might not be saying that when we’re carrying the poker table up.”
The journey to the top on September 15 will require mental and physical determination. But Andrew is taking no gamble with his challenge and is already upping his game fitness-wise.
The money raised will help to provide more free nursing care for people with terminal cancer and other illnesses.
