FROM climbing Ben Nevis to throwing themselves out of a plane and daring to don fancy dress, businesses from across Hampshire have worked tirelessly to help make hospital a better place for patients.
So to thank them for their continued support, Southampton Hospital Charity awarded 38 companies with silver, gold and platinum corporate stars, which were presented by University Hospital Southampton NHS Foundation Trust’s chef executive Mark Hackett.
The Southern Daily Echo was proud to receive the charity’s platinum award, in recognition for the paper’s ongoing support for the charity’s many campaigns, including the Red and White Appeal, which is trying to raise £1.76m to build a specialist centre for blood cancer patients.
Others picking up awards included Skandia, Aviva, Barclays and Southern Water.
