THEY’VE run, cycled, wrapped presents, made coffee and played golf – all for a good cause.
Staff at Skandia in Southampton have collected a massive £23,000 for Macmillan Cancer Support through months of marathon fundraising.
The cash is enough to keep the charity’s information centre at Southampton General Hospital fully stocked for seven years.
Macmillan’s Katie Blake said the charity has been delighted with the fundraising efforts by workers at the insurance firm, which have included taking part in the Great South Run, a London to Southampton bike ride, and Christmas present wrapping at WestQuay Shopping Centre.
She said: “We’ve had great fun working with them, and they’ve been really fantastic in the way they’ve supported us.”
