A HAMPSHIRE cancer charity is celebrating after receiving a donation of more than £16,000.
The Wessex Cancer Trust was presented with a cheque for £16,079, raised at the Southern Property Ball, jointly run by the Daily Echo and Southampton Property Association.
More than 450 people attended the event, now in its second year, which was held at St Mary's Stadium in October.
The funds were raised through an auction compered by Hampshire funnyman Mike Osman.
Tina Hawke, of the Wessex Cancer Trust, said: "The Southern Property Ball is a wonderful event which helps us to ensure that patients dealing with cancer are getting the best possible care and support.
"The money will help us cover 53 patient grants."
Pictured as the cheque was handed over are SPA chairman Russell Mogridge, Jane Carley from Wessex Cancer Trust, Lucy Richmond and Jo Richardson from the Southern Daily Echo and Wessex Cancer Trust's Tina Hawke.
