HAMPSHIRE mum Katie Gallienne joined a star-studded line-up at the national Race for Life launch in London.
Katie – whose two-year-old daughter Olivia died of leukaemia – was one of ten Race for Life Ambassadors chosen to recreate the iconic police line-up from cult film the Usual Suspects.
The stunt was designed to promote the 5km charity run which is open to women of all ages, shapes, sizes and fitness.
Celebrity supporters of Race for Life including TV presenter Lynda Bellingham, comedian Amy Lame, Casualty star Rebekah Gibbs, television’s ‘Green Goddess’ Diana Moran and Ruth Lorenzo of X Factor fame were among the ‘Unusual Suspects’ to back the event.
Pregnant Katie, 32, from Alresford, hopes her baby boy Morgan will take part in this year’s Race for Life on Southampton Common on July 12.
Katie’s youngest daughter Olivia was diagnosed with an aggressive form of leukaemia when she was just five weeks old. She lost her battle with the disease in August 2007 – just a month after taking part in Race for Life in Southampton.
Cancer Research UK hopes 10,000 women will sign up for the Southampton race this year, helping to raise £590,000 for vital research. To enter Race For Life visit raceforlife.
