THE countdown to this year’s Race for Life has begun.
And with three months to go until the event on Southampton Common, it’s time to get training.
Keen runners Stuart Rogers, Matt George and Pat Archer are lending their support to the women-only event by leading gentle training sessions every Tuesday evening in Bitterne until July.
Experienced runners themselves, the three friends are keen to encourage other people to get fit and enjoy running and walking around the local area.
Stuart said: “We would like to offer some help to ladies who are thinking of running Race for Life or anyone (male or female) who would just like to start jogging.”
Runners meet at 6.15pm at Accolade Gym, Centurion Industrial Park, Bitterne Road West. Places are on a first-come, first-served basis.Women and girls of all ages and fitness abilities are invited to take part in Cancer Research UK’s Race for Life in Southampton on July 12.
