THOUSANDS of runners took to the streets of Southampton today for the Sport Relief mile.

Roads were closed and metal barriers installed as fundraisers jogged a route from Hoglands Park to the Bargate and back again.

Celebrity gardener Charlie Dimmock as well as sailor Dee Caffari took part in the charity event, which saw participants run either six, three or one mile depending on their ability.

Rollapaluza Cycle Club, Batala Samba Band and Liberty Pride Cheerleaders were among the acts entertaining the thousands of runners and spectators.
