Police examine CCTV in Brockenhurst Railway Station gunpoint robbery investigation

DETECTIVES investigating the robbery at gunpoint of a man outside a railway station will examine CCTV footage to see if the incident was captured on camera.

British Transport Police has also released a more detailed description of the man wanted in connection with the incident that started at Brockenhurst railway station shortly before 6.30am on Wednesday .

The 64-year-old victim, from the local area, had just parked his car outside the station when he was approached and threatened by a man who appeared to be brandishing a handgun.

He told the victim to get back in his car and drive him first towards Boldre, then Sway, then to the HSBC bank in Brockenhurst, where he forced him to withdraw a large amount of money from a cash machine.

The man was then dumped in a car park in Rhinefield Road and the robber drove off, later abandoning the car, a grey Porsche 911 Carrera, in Sway Road, Brockenhurst.

The man detectives want to speak to in connection with the incident is described as being white, 5ft 10in and of slim build.

He was aged between 48 and 52 years old and had a ruddy complexion.

The man was clean shaven, had black eyebrows and spoke with a local accent and wore a black, knitted balaclava, a Crombie-style black coat, three-quarter-length coat, dark trousers and blue and black, shabby cross trainers.

He also had a small blue and black rucksack.
