POLICE are anxious to trace a group of youths who went to the aid of an assault victim.

A 33-year-old woman and a 38-year-man were walking along Station Road in New Milton when they were confronted by a man who was drunk. He kicked the woman, bruising her leg.

Police are trying to trace a group of young men who walked the couple home.

Call PC Benjamin Clark at New Milton police station on 101.

This type of thing needs more publicity than it gets. Young people are often unfairly demonised en masse.
