THIS is the image of one of two men police want to identify following the stabbing of a woman in Hampshire.

The 39-year-old victim was walking her dog in the early hours of Saturday, January 12 when she approached the junction of Lambourne Road and Townhill Way in West End, Southampton.

She noticed two men walking on the opposite pavement at 3.30am. The dog approached them, and one of the men kicked the dog.

She shouted at the man and approached him but felt something hit her stomach and realised she had been stabbed.

She was treated at Southampton General Hospital for a wound two inches long and an inch deep.

The two men ran along Townhill Way to West End Road after the incident.

Police have just released this image of one of the men who is in his early 20s, slim, slightly muscular and about 5ft 9in with cropped sandy-blond hair. He was clean-shaven and wore a hooded cream jacket and dark trousers.

The second man is white and of the same age and height. He is chunkier in build and had dark hair and a navy blue hoodie.

Police want to hear from anyone with information about the incident.
