A NOW-PREGNANT teenager who attacked a woman in a nightclub has avoided a jail sentence.

Lavinia Castle, 19, unemployed, admitted actual bodily harm on Erin Woods in the Tavern in Romsey in November 2012, Winchester Crown Court heard.

Audrey Archer, prosecuting, said Castle’s mother Samantha Adams had got into an altercation with Miss Woods, 25, and Castle had intervened and then attacked the victim. At one stage, said Ms Archer, both mother and daughter were assaulting Miss Woods.

Miss Woods, who was knocked unconscious, had spent five days in hospital because of neurological concerns, the court was told.

Richard Martin, mitigating, said Castle was now three months pregnant and expecting her first baby in June 2014. She was of previous good character.

Adams, 38, of Allan Grove, Romsey, is due to be sentenced at Southampton Crown Court on December 10.

Three other co-accused are also due for sentence on December 10. They are: Paul Castle, 41, of Flowerdown Close, Romsey, Christopher Byrne, 24, of Allan Grove, and Lavinia’s sister Louisa Castle, 20, of Allan Grove.

Judge Mr Recorder Nigel Lickley QC imposed an 18-month community order with a supervision requirement for eight sessions, and a £60 victim surcharge.
