POLICE are hunting thieves behind a series of motorcycle thefts.

They believe the four thefts in the Whiteley area, including three in the last week, are linked and are warning residents to be vigilant.

Thieves took a Honda CBR 100 from Talbot Road, Whiteley between 9am and 11am on Monday.

Then a Honda CBR motorcycle was stolen at Raymarine, in Cartwright Drive, on Tuesday between 12.50 and 1.10pm.

On this occasion two men were seen loading the bike into the rear of a white box van.

And thieves stole an orange Kawasaki 600 from outside an address in Arabian Gardens, Whiteley, sometime between 2.30 and 6am on Wednesday.

This follows an incident where a Honda CBR 600 was stolen from a multi storey car park opposite Specsavers, in the Solent Business Park, on, January 20 between 8.30am and 6pm.

Police are appealing for residents to call them if they see the van or notice any other suspicious activity or people.

Call PC Dave Coleman at Park Gate police station on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.

With all the ANPR systems tracking traffic movements on the A27 and M27, some very clever software the serious crime squad already use and the application of some good old detective work they should be able to sort this pretty quickly, but I doubt much will happen until one of the unmarked CID bikes gets nicked...

Anyone caught stealing from someone else deserves to be put in a cage in the city centre for people to see and throw rotten fruit at, just like in the old days.
When you have something stolen invaraibly you are left out of pocket, while these scum either get away with it or if caught get a slap on the wrist.
