A HAMPSHIRE home is still sealed off by police tonight.

There is still a large police presence outside an address in Rose Road, Totton, hours after officers and forensices arrived on the scene just after 2pm.

Officers today sealed off the property following a disturbance at the property.

Despite reassuring residents there was nothing serious occurring, officers have remained at the property throughout the afternoon and have increased the number of officers at the address.

Daily Echo:

Tonight there are at least eight police vehicles at the scene and officers are standing guard in alleyways surrounding the property.

But police remain tight lipped over the investigation.

A specialist Hampshire Fire and Rescue incident crew was at the location earlier today but has since left.

Forensic officers have also been seen entering the semi-detached home.

Members of the public have described watching bags being removed from inside the home.

A spokesman for Hampshire police confirmed that a man had been arrested for breach of the peace and that a search was being conducted of the property.

Daily Echo:

They are not divulging any further information about the nature of the incident or what they are searching the property for.

One resident, who did not wish to be named, said: “The police have been here since I picked my daughter up from school.

“We have been told it is nothing dangerous but we have seen officers some out holding evidence bags and there have been plenty of rumours.”

Another resident said they had heard the police were planning to dig up the garden as vans and police officers were stood guard around the entire end-of-terrace property.

Forensic offices were also on the scene whilst specialist search officers dressed in orange suits were also seen entering the house.
