A DRUGS gang accused of killing Jahmel Jones have been found guilty of his murder.

Jurors took three days to unanimously find crack cocaine and heroin dealers Pierre Lewis, Jemmikai Orlebar Forbes, and Isaac Boateng guilty of killing the 23-year-old at a flat in 69 St Mary Street, Southampton, on April 20 last year.

They previously pleaded guilty to the charge of conspiracy to supply Class A drugs.

Rachel Kenehan, 35, a lecturer in criminology and sociology who was in a relationship with Lewis, was found guilty of assisting an offender, perverting the course of justice, and conspiracy to supply Class A drugs. She previously denied the charges.

Kenehan was the only defendant in the dock after a security incident earlier in the day when two security guards were injured.

She had her head bowed throughout the verdicts, staring at the floor. The judge granted her bail until Monday when all four will be sentenced.

Father-of-one Mr Jones, who had the nickname Lucky and was a rival drug dealer, was shot once in the arm and head following a confrontation at the flat.

Lucky, who was from Brixton, south. London, later died from his injuries after being taken to Southampton General Hospital.

Over the course of the six week trial at Winchester Crown Court, jurors heard how Mr Jones was dealing crack cocaine and heroin on the streets of St Mary's in the months leading up to his arrest.

Lewis, Orlebar Forbes, and Boateng, set up a drugs enterprise in the same area, which was known as the Jumbo network.

On the morning of April 20, the gang went looking for Mr Jones in the St Mary's area after staying the night at a flat in Graham House, Northam.

CCTV footage shown on court captured the trio wearing hooded jumpers with the hoods up as they scoured St Mary Street, including bookmakers.

They entered a flat owned by Susan Moran and Derek Saunders, the court heard, in the minutes before the shooting.

Mr Jones turned up at the flat along with friend Jason Hoitt, a drug addict, and was shot dead.

The gang fled the property and made their way back to Graham House, where they caught a taxi to Basingstoke.

It was here they were later picked up by Kenehan, who let them stay at her home in Hewlett Road in the days following the murder.

The court heard how Kenehan rented numerous hire cars between December 2012 and April 2013, many of which were used in trips back and forth between London and Southampton.

She also took speeding penalties racked up by Lewis, who was driving the vehicles despite not having a licence, and tried to destroy forensic evidence by pouring white spirit on trainers worn by Lewis at the time of the shooting.
