THEY are items which could prove to be vital evidence concerning the killing of Choudhry Zishan.

A pair of shoes thought to belong to one of his killers are missing while a light-coloured top is also being sought by police.

Detective Supt Barton today appealed for residents living in the Eastleigh area to check their gardens and bins for the items and to call police urgently if they find them.

He said: “I am still asking for the public’s help in looking for items that may have been discarded. In particular I am looking for some shoes worn by one of the attackers and possibly a light coloured top.”

He also renewed his plea to anyone who thinks they may have come into contact with those responsible who could well have had blood on their clothing as they fled the scene.

The plea came as police community support officers and local neighbourhood officers continued to speak to people in a bid to reassure them. Posters were delivered through the doors of homes urging those with any concerns to attend a street meeting near to Wells Place last night to raise any concerns.

Officers are increasing patrols in the area over the next few days to reassure neighbours and they will be stepping up their presence in the evenings this Friday and Saturday.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Op Bedale incident room on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
