BURGLARS have stolen £20,000 worth of valuables from a Hampshire home.

They broke into the flat in Southampton and took items including several high value watches and a bottle containing £2,000 in pound coins.

The thieves had managed to get into the communal area of the block of flats in Riverdene Place, Bitterne Park, and then forced the door of the property.

They searched the flat and took three Breitling watches valued at £7,000, £5,000 and £4,000 and a Tag Heuer watch worth £2,500.

Two gold chains, a gold bracelet, black Adidas LA trainers and an Adidas bag and North Face bag were also taken.

The burglary happened between June 9 and Saturday June 28 while the owner, a 41-year-old man, was away.

Police are appealing for witnesses who may have seen anything suspicious in the area and has information to get in touch.
