A MAN was beaten up by a gang in a city street and left with a fractured jaw and neck and eye wounds.
The 30-year-old victim was attacked between the West Quay Retail Park and the Asda store on Western Esplanade in Southampton.
Police believe one of the men had a knife although it was not used.
The suspects are described as black and in their late twenties.
Details of the alleged assault last Wednesday, between 4am to 7am, have been released today as detectives step up their inquiry.
