POLICE have arrested a man after an elderly woman was left with a broken eye socket in an attack in her own home.
Hampshire Constabulary has confirmed a 43-year-old man was arrested following the incident in the early hours of Friday.
The 87-year-old woman was assaulted in her home and suffered cuts and bruises.
Police say the burglar broke into her home in Lymbourn Road, Havant, at around 3.30am.
The man was arrested yesterday and was bailed for medical treatment.
Hampshire police said officers expect to question the man in the next few days.
