A MAN has been charged following a major child abduction investigation into the disappearance of a Hampshire schoolgirl.
It comes after officers launched a search earlier this year for a 15-year-old girl, who went missing from her Southampton home, with a man more than twice her age.
It centred around the Isle of Wight, where the pair were eventually found, more than 24 hours after the pair were last seen.
As a result of Hampshire Constabulary's investigations into the incident, Michael Britten, 33, has been charged with three offences - child abduction, sexually activity with a child under the age of 16 and possession of an indecent image of a child under the age of 16.
He has been bailed and is due to appear at Southampton Magistrates Court, on December 30.
