POLICE have arrested a second teenager after cars were pelted with objects thrown from a Hampshire bridge.

The 14-year-old was arrested on suspicion of causing danger to road users has been bailed until April 15 pending further enquiries.

A 13-year-old boy was arrested for the same offence earlier this week and has also been bailed until April 15.

The incident occurred on Wednesday, February 11, between 2.30pm and 3.45pm when a group of young people was seen throwing items at cars from the pedestrian footbridge between Camelot Close and Athol Court in Andover.

Chief Inspector Kory Thorne district commander for Andover said "Throwing items off of bridges at passing vehicles is incredibly stupid and dangerous.

"We have seen incidents in the past in Hampshire where motorists have been hospitalised after items have been thrown off of bridges and have crashed through windscreens.

"I want to thank the people who challenged the group and called the police."
