A WEST End woman has appeared in court in connection with an accident that led to the death of a pensioner cyclist.
Sophie Whitmarsh, 24, of Wylye Close, was accused of causing the death of William Logan by driving without due care and attention at the junction of Reading Room Lane and Outlands Lane, Curdridge, last April.
She pleaded not guilty and had bail extended until her trial at Southampton Crown Court on April 20.
Judge Nicholas Rowland heard that the case will last up to five days and could lead to jurors being taken to the scene of the incident.
The prosecution claim that Whitmarsh pulled out of a minor road and collided with Mr Logan, who had right of way.
The 70-year-old, who lived in The Crescent, Eastleigh, was left with serious injuries and was rushed to Southampton General Hospital, where he later died.
