A MAN is in a medically induced coma today after a vicious assault left him with serious head injuries.

The 36-year-old victim is being treated at Southampton General Hospital after being attacked while returning from a night out.

The man and his friend were set upon last night at the junction of and Elson Road , in Gosport, as they walked home from the Three Tuns pub.

 

 

 

 

Now police are appealing to anyone who was drinking there to contact them to help with enquiries.

The man’s friend was also assaulted but it is not believed he needed hospital treatment.

A 35-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the incident and is being held in custody.
