POLICE are hunting for two masked knifeman who burst into a Hampshire store.

Staff at Food Stop Delicatessen in Bitterne Road West, were terrified when the two armed robbers entered the shop, wielding knives and wearing face masks late last night.

Fortunately one employee was able to activate the alarm and the pair fled the store empty handed, shortly after 10.30pm.

One offender is described as being about 5ft 7ins tall and the other was 5ft 9ins tall and of stocky build. Both were wearing white overalls, gloves and face masks.

One of them was also believed to be wearing a black top which may have had an eagle motif across the chest.

Detective Constable Mark Bradley, from Western Investigation Team, said: “Fortunately the employees were not injured but the incident has left them quite shaken.

“I am keen to hear from anyone who might have been in the area at the time or who might have seen or heard anything. I am also keen to hear from anyone who might have found white decorator overalls in their garden.”
