POLICE are stepping up an investigation after a teenager was hospitalised after being assaulted in Southampton city centre.

Officers have just released CCTV images of the unprovoked attack in Vincents Walk near Houndwell Park.

The victim, 18, was walking with his brother when he was assaulted by two men.

One punched him causing him to fall to the ground. As he tried getting to his feet, the second pushed him back to the ground and kicked him.

The first suspect is described as white, wearing a black hat, light grey tracksuit bottoms and black and white trainers.

The second suspect is described as white, wearing a black hat with white motif on the front, black jacket with white stripe down each sleeve and a white motif on left side front of jacket and dark grey tracksuit bottoms.

The victim was treated at hospital for his injuries and later released.

Although the CCTV does not clearly show the offenders, it is hoped someone may recognise them or the distinctive clothing they are wearing.
