A FORMER postman exposed himself to a charity worker, Southampton Crown Court was told.

Tony Norman was told by a judge: “You behaved disgracefully. I hope you have some insight into the trauma you caused her.”

Recorder Alistair Malcolm QC said the most important thing was to make sure he didn’t do it again and followed the probation report recommendation of a community order with 18 months’ supervision.

Norman, 54, of Pound Street, Bitterne, Southampton, was convicted at the city crown court of exposure. He had denied the allegation.

James Newton-Price, defending, said Norman had been suffering from anxiety and panic attacks for ten years and was medically retired from his job.

Quoting the probation report, he said Norman accepted his behaviour was wrong and had displayed remorse knowing how the victim would have felt. Norman was also ordered to pay the prosecution’s cost of £1,500.
