POLICE have arrested two men after a fatal hit-and-run collision in Southampton.
A 35-year-old woman died at the scene of a crash in Tremona Road, near Southampton General Hospital, between 10.15pm and 11.15pm on Saturday night.
A vehicle has been recovered and now two men, both aged 23, are being questioned by officers from Hampshire Constabulary’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit.
They were arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and failure to stop following a collision.
A police spokesperson said: “We would like to take this opportunity to thank members of the public who have helped share our appeal over the past few days.”
Officers have identified the woman who died but are not in a position to formally announce her name publicly.
