POLICE have launched an investigation after arsonists set light to a garage in the early hours of this morning.

A fire spread from a back alley to the garage and two sheds in St Anne's Grove, Fareham sending 30ft flames shooting into the air.

People living near the garage were woken by loud bangs as tyres and aerosol cans exploded.

Fire crews rushed to the scene at 1.45am and battled to put out the blaze which destroyed a trailer, bikes and other belongings inside.

Nobody was inside the garage at the time and nobody was injured.

Hampshire Fire and Rescue Service believe the fire was started deliberately and police are now investigating.
