A MUM of six who had acid flung in her face has revealed the agonising pain she has suffered since the attack in Southampton city centre.

Carla Whitlock, 37, sustained horrific burns to her face, neck and arms, and cannot see out of her right eye after the incident outside the Turtle Bay on Friday night.

After being released from hospital she gave her first tearful interview and opened up about the constant stabbing pain she has been subjected to.

The images contrast with CCTV footage showing brothers Billy and Geoffrey Midmore, who are wanted by police in connection with the incident, smiling to each other in a Southampton McDonald’s just hours after the attack.

Carla thanked doormen from the Turtle Bay for helping her after the attack and said: "It's painful. My eyes are swollen at the moment.

"It’s going to get more painful before it gets better. It just feels like someone is stabbing me in the eyeball all the time.

"I can pretty much see everything out of my left eye but I cannot see anything out of my right eye.

"There is a good chance I won't regain any sight in my right eye. It’s just time that will tell with that one. It has changed my life completely.

"I’m managing best as I can."Billy and Geoff Midmore were caught on CCTV at the fast food restaurant in Swaythling at 2.44pm on Sunday, September 20, about 36 hours after the attack.

The men, who are from London, are known to have caught a train to Basingstoke directly after the incident but then returned to Southampton the next day.

The incident is the second to have struck Carla after her husband Paul was killed in a motorbike crash in September 2013.

Daily Echo:

An inquest into his death heard that after leaving work his bike struck a barrier on Third Avenue opposite Millbrook Road West and he died of his injuries.

Carla was keen to praise the work of bystanders who helped her after the attack on Friday.

She said: "I would like to say thank you very much to the bouncers outside Turtle Bay. The efforts that they have done is why I've got sight in my left eye now.

"Everything they have done, that's why I do have that sight so I would really like to thank them for that."

Following the incident, which took place at about 9pm on Friday, September 18, officers have widened their search as far as Kent and have urged anyone who has any information to get in touch.

Daily Echo:

Detective Inspector Will Whale, leading the investigation, said: "I want to thank Carla for her bravery in speaking with the media today.

"It took real courage and we just hope that people will see her face, hear her words, and sit up and listen.

"I know that people will find her photo distressing. This is why we want to speak to Billy and Geoffrey Midmore and this is why we are asking for the public help to find them.

"We want to speak to these men in connection with the acid assault in Southampton on Friday evening. They could be in a number of places as they are known to have contacts in Southampton, Basingstoke, London and the South East.

“We consider them to be dangerous individuals and clearly a potential risk to members of the public."
