RAPIST who abused an underage girl in Hampshire before fleeing to Hong Kong has been jailed for 15 years.

Amateur ice skater Joseph Tsang, 31, was found guilty in his absence of a string of sex offences in the county after a six-day trial at Oxford Crown Court earlier this year.

But shortly after he was convicted of two counts of raping the girl in a Hampshire hotel, as well as two counts of sexual assault, he fled.

The victim of the Hampshire offences said: "I cannot understand how a person can do that to another person and feel nothing.

"This has had a huge impact on my life for which I am still receiving counselling and I don't know if I will totally recover."

Police launched a manhunt and Tsang was tracked down in Hong Kong in September and has now been jailed after a hearing in Oxford.

Senior investigating officer, detective chief inspector Katy Barrow-Grint of the Protecting Vulnerable People Investigation Unit at Thames Valley Police, said: "I am delighted at the sentenced imposed upon Tsang, who preyed on vulnerable victims for his own sexual gratification.

"The sentence reflects the serious sexual offences that Tsang committed against vulnerable victims."
