STAFF have been left stunned after a newly launched Hampshire shop was raided this morning.
Shattered glass surrounds the entrance of the My Local branch in Fair Oak after a fag raid today.
The shop based in Fair Oak Road and formerly known as a Morrisons, has only been open for a few days after the store changed hands this week.
Customers told the Daily Echo they couldn't believe what had happened.
Gary White said: "It didn't take long for something to happen here, how awful for the staff they've just been left to pick up the pieces and they've barely even settled in. This is a quiet little area you wouldn't expect something like this to happen."
The shop is currently closed and staff remain tight-lipped about the incident but confirmed that it was a fag raid and they were disappointed this had happened so soon after the store officially opening.
The raid happened at around 5.15am today and a crew from Eastleigh Fire Station were called after a smoke cloak alarm went off.
Hampshire police were also called to the scene and are investigating the incident.
As reported by the Daily Echo, it comes after a Co-op in North Baddesley was raided twice in a week while officers are also probing whether a raid in Holbury on October 20 is linked.
The shop was formerly a Morrisons and only recently became a My Local.
