POLICE are investigating a ‘savage assault’ in a Southampton nightclub.

Two men, aged 23 and 24, were dancing with a group of friends at Orange Rooms in Vernon Walk on Saturday night when they were attacked in an unprovoked assault.

The 23-year-old suffered a fractured nose and the 24-year-old sustained bruising and swelling to his eye socket while he also has to seek dental treatment.

Both victims were taken to Southampton General Hospital while the offender immediately left the nightclub after the incident, which took place at around 1am.

He is described as white, 5ft 10ins, aged in his mid to late 20s, of medium/athletic build with short dark hair. He was wearing a red tartan/chequered shirt and was with a woman described as white, of slim build, with short blonde hair worn in a bob style and wearing a white top.

Police Staff Investigator Katherine Pullen, said: “This has been described as a savage and unprovoked attack which left the two victims with injuries that will require further medical treatment.

“I am appealing for anyone with any information which may help lead to the identification of the offender.”
