SOUTHAMPTON’S most wanted man will have his face broadcast across the UK as the charity Crimestoppers marks the 10th anniversary of its most wanted online gallery.

Craig Ham, 22, is wanted by Hampshire police on warrant in relation to an attempted burglary, theft of motor vehicle and handling stolen goods.

Ham, who is known in the Southampton area, is also wanted on suspicion of burglary.

From today his face will appear with other wanted by UK police forces on a van fitted with a large digital screen that will launch in London before travelling to town and cities across the UK, including Southampton.

The Most Wanted tour comes exactly ten years after Crimestoppers’ most wanted gallery was launched in the UK.

So far the site has listed a total of 12,542 appeals, 3,589 of which have been arrested.

Lord Ashcroft, founder and chairman of Crimestoppers, said: “Most Wanted continues to be a success a decade after we launched it and we wanted to celebrate this milestone.

“A huge number of those who have been listed on the website have been arrested over the years and we hope this Most Wanted tour of the UK will increase that number.

“The digital screens will be hitting the streets, possibly going in to the cities and towns where these suspects are hiding.

“We urge the public to have a look at those screens when they pass by and, if you recognise any of the faces, contact Crimestoppers anonymously.”

The site initially provided photographs and descriptions of known suspects before expanding to include an ‘unknowns’ section of CCTV images.

Its aim is to give members of the public the opportunity to give information about any of the suspects to Crimestoppers anonymously.
