POLICE have made a number of arrests after a wide-ranging crackdown on drug-related violence in Hampshire.

Officers raided properties in St Mary's, Thornhill, Millbrook, Northam, Southampton city centre, West End and Eastleigh between 6am and 8.30am yesterday morning.

In total, 18 arrests have been made - 11 in Southampton and a further three in London and four on Merseyside, following 26 warrants being executed.

Southampton District Commander, Superintendent Alison Heydari said: “Drugs related activity will not be tolerated in Southampton. 

“We continue to work closely with our partners to ensure Southampton is a hostile environment for those who wish to pursue a criminal enterprise in this city. 

“The role of the community in tackling drugs related activity is vital, please contact us with any information – if we don’t know about it, we can’t act on it.

"Help us to keep your community safe and protect vulnerable people from harm.”

The people arrested in Southampton were a 41-year-old man, a 22-year-old man, a 19-year-old man, an 18-year-old man, a 27-year-old man, a 20-year-old man, a 19-year-old man, a 17-year-old girl, an 18-year-old woman, a 14-year-old boy and a 17-year-old boy.
