TWO MEN were kicked and punched to the ground in an unprovoked attack in Southampton.

The pair were attacked by two men this weekend in Watts Park and one victim was left with a suspected broken nose and heavily bruised eye while the other has a cut lip and swollen cheek.

Police are now appealing for witnesses following the incident off Cumberland Place in the early hours of Sunday morning.

The victims, aged 27 and 31, were both kicked and punched to the ground by both suspects, which officers at Hampshire Constabulary believe was an unprovoked attack.

Their attackers fled the scene quickly after beating up the two men and the victims were surrounded by concerned members of the public who ran to their aid afterwards.

Both men were taken to Southampton General Hospital with the 27-year-old suffering the suspected broken nose and a heavily bruised eye and the 31-year-old left a cut lip and swelling to his cheek bone.

Officers are now searching for the people who came to help the victims as they could hold vital information.

The first suspect is described as being white, in his late 20’s, about 5ft 9ins tall, of a stocky build and had short curly ginger hair with a full ginger beard. He was wearing a pink top.

The second suspect is described as being white and was wearing a grey t-shirt.

Police would also like to hear from anyone who saw two men matching the descriptions in the area at the time of the incident, which happened at 2am.
