TWO MEN have been arrested after an attempted armed bank robbery.
Police have arrested the pair after reports that two men demanded cash from bank staff.
As reported, the attempted armed robbery happened on Monday, May 16 at Lloyds Bank in Liphook and officers were called at 4:10pm.
A man was shot in the face with an air gun and stabbed and was rushed to the Royal Surrey County Hospital in Guildford, but has since been discharged.
Now Hampshire Constabulary has revealed that 46 year-old Jonathan Pay of Liphook Road in Lindford has been charged with two counts of attempted robbery, one count of possesion of an imitation firearm with intent to cause fear of violence, and one count of wounding with intent.
He has been remanded to appear at Basingstoke Magistrates Court today.
A 31 year-old British man of no fixed address has been bailed as part of the investigation until July 13 pending further enquiries.
