POLICE are hunting a driver who spat in the face of a female cyclist.

The man pulled over after a minor collision to spit at the woman before driving off.

The incident occurred at the junction of Delemer Road and Fawcett Road, in Southsea, between 2.30pm and 3pm on Friday, June 3.

Officers are appealing for witnesses and want to speak to a woman driving a Fiat 500 who spoke to the victim afterwards.

The driver is described as white, in his late 20s to early 30s, approximately 5ft 10ins tall with dark hair. He was wearing a dark t-shirt and shorts.

Police staff investigator Hannah Hamper said: “We would like to hear from anyone who may have seen this assault on this female cyclist.

“We particularly want to speak to a female driver of a beige Fiat 500 who witnessed the assault and spoke to the victim after the incident.”
