POLICE have issued images of a masked raider who attempted to rob a service station at knifepoint.

The man threatened two members of staff with the blade before demanding money from the till.

However, workers at the Jet Service Station in Bordon pressed the panic button and the man fled empty handed.

The man, who had his face covered, went into the garage in Woolmer Way at about 9.20pm last night.

He held a knife in a plastic carrier bag.

He is described as white, in his twenties, was about 5ft 7ins tall and spoke with a local accent.

he was wearing a black hooded top with the hood up and a grey scarf which covered his face, as well as a pair of dark coloured gloves, black trousers and lighter coloured trainers.

Detective Constable Mark Ogburn said: “We would like to speak to anyone who thinks they may know the identity of the man captured on these CCTV images.

“We would also like to hear from anyone who saw anyone acting suspiciously in the area before or after the incident as this information could assist our investigation.

“This is a rare occurrence in the area and fortunately no one was injured during the incident.”
