A WOMAN had to be freed from the wreckage of her car after it ploughed into Hampshire pub.

The car crashed into a pub in Fordingbridge during yesterday's rush hour.

The Vauxhall Astra left the road and hit the Augustus John on Station Road at around 5.30pm.

A woman who was driving the car was freed by fire crews before paramedics took over.

It is not yet known how badly she was injured.

Firefighters from Fordingbridge, Ringwood and Redbridge were called to the scene, along with the specialist Urban Search and Rescue team based at Eastleigh.

Checks were being carried out last night to ensure the building was structurally sound.
