Hampshire Police are appealing witnesses after a van containing more than £1,600 worth of Amazon parcels was stolen in Southampton.

The driver was delivering the parcels on behalf of Amazon when he left his vehicle briefly in Broadlands Road between 10.30am and 11am on yesterday.

When he returned, the vehicle had been stolen. It was tracked and found in Bassett Crescent East shortly after and has since been recovered by officers.

Several parcels had been stolen valued at over £1600.

Police Staff Investigator Daniel Brown, from the Western Investigation Team, said: “We would like to speak to anyone who saw someone entering, driving or abandoning a white, unmarked, transit van in either the Broadlands Road area or Bassett Crescent East area between these times.”

Anyone with information is asked to call police on 101, quoting 44170018744, or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
