A MAN has been jailed for breaking a suspended sentence by drink driving.
Anthony McVey, 30, of Knightwood Road, Hythe, was stopped whilst driving an R-reg Vauxhall Corsa by police on the A303 near Micheldever on July 17, magistrates in Basingstoke were told.
His alcohol reading was 71 micrograms per 100 millilitres of breath when the legal limit is 35, making him double the limit.
The court was told that he received a sentence of 18 weeks in jail suspended for two years last year for assault.
Magistrates activated the sentence, jailing McVey for nine weeks.
He was also disqualified from driving for 42 months and ordered to pay a £115 victim surcharge..
