A SOUTHAMPTON man has avoided prison after a ‘sustained attack’ on his victim in her own home.

Samuel Zac Ballin, 24, of Derby Road, Southampton, pleaded guilty to assault and damaging the phone of his victim in her home where she ‘should have felt safe’.

Ballin was given a 13-week sentence suspended for 12 months after the attack and ordered to pay £140 victim surcharge and £85 costs.

He was also made to pay £100 compensation.
