A MAN won't be able to drive for nearly two years after he was caught over the legal alcohol limit.

Bradley Barnes, 42, of Market Lane, Winchester ,was stopped by police on the A30 on September 20, a court heard.

When breathalysed his alcohol reading was 111 micrograms per 100 millilitres of breath when the legal limit is 35.

He was banned for 23 months although the disqualification will be reduced by 23 weeks if he passes an approved course.

Magistrates in Basingstoke also ordered him to take part in a 14-day drink-impaired drivers programme with a rehabilitation activity requirement for up to ten days and to undertake 100 hours unpaid work.

Barnes was also ordered to pay £85 costs.
