A WOMAN who sold a stolen games console for just £30 has been jailed for three months.
Emma Scott was given the sentence because her crime was a "planned and calculated offence", according to Southampton Magistrates' Court.
The court decided that the 32-year-old had dishonestly received the console and a television in February, knowing both items were stolen.
Scott then sold the games console two days later for £30 in cash.
She pleaded not guilty to the offences, but was found guilty during a court hearing last week.
The 32-year-old was given a three month prison sentence for one count of fraud by false representation and a concurrent two month sentence for handling stolen goods.
She was given an extra month on top of her three month sentence for wasting police time by submitting a false report – a charge she admitted.
Scott, of no fixed abode, also admitted an offence of possessing cannabis.
Alongside her prison sentence, Scott will also be made to pay a £115 victim surcharge.
