THREE robbers attacked a man with a crowbar before stealing cash at a Hampshire service station.

The trio forced entry through the back door of a shop at Stoney Cross services on the westbound A31 at about 4.25am this morning.

The man who was attacked was rushed to Royal Bournemouth Hospital, where he received treatment for a head wound.

Police say a driver making morning deliveries is thought to have disturbed the suspects during the incident.

They ran across the dual carriageway to a layby on the eastbound side, directly opposite the services.

A Hampshire Police spokesman said: "We would like to trace any motorists travelling past the services around this time, particularly if they have dashcam footage of any vehicles parked on the eastbound carriageway or layby.
