RESIDENTS in Southampton and Hedge End have fallen victim to a scam involving cut-priced television sets.

Police say they have had four reports of fraudsters selling televisions from the back of vehicles in the two areas.

Officers warn the products were in "authentic looking packaging".

The two fraudsters, both men, said the televisions were shop returns.

Victims paid for the televisions and took them home, only to open the packaging and discovered they were damaged.

The incidents took place in Southampton and Hedge End between April 4 and April 18.

Police are asking anyone who is approached in this way to call police on 101 when safe to do so.
