THE following cases were heard at Southampton Magistrates’ Court:

  • SAMUEL JOHN ADAM SNOOK, 28, of Shirley Road, Southampton. Admitted breaching a community order. Committed to prison for 16 weeks.
  • MICHAEL MCGRANAGHAN, 61, of Drove Road, Southampton. Pleaded guilty to using threatening behaviour towards a police officer and harassment. Handed a 24-week prison sentence, suspended for 24 months. Restraining order made. Also ordered to pay £1,000 in compensation, £115 victim surcharge, and £85 costs.
  • SIMON NEEDS, 41, of Portswood Road, Southampton. Pleaded guilty to being drunk and disorderly. Fined £100. Ordered to pay £30 victim surcharge, and £85 costs.
  • WILLIAM HENRY CASTLE, 57, whose address was given as HM Prison, Winchester. Pleaded guilty to stealing a pushchair worth £644.98 from Toys ‘R’ Us. Conditional discharge for two years. Ordered to pay £644.98 compensation.
  • DILLON MICHAEL CRAWFORD, 21, of Bedford Place, Southampton. Pleaded guilty to cannabis possession and breaking an existing order. Given a 12-month conditional discharge. Ordered to pay victim surcharge of £20.
  • MAHMOUD YUSSUF, 18, of Denham Drive, Barkingside. Pleaded guilty to assault, possession of an offensive weapon, resisting arrest and obstructing a police officer doing his duty. Committed to prison for 20 weeks. Ordered to pay £115 victim surcharge, and £85 costs.
  • ANDREW BRIAN BELL, 35, of Town Quay, Southampton. Pleaded guilty to theft and breaching a conditional discharge order. Community order made including 120 hours of unpaid work. Ordered to pay £400 compensation.
  • LEWIS BALL-SMITH, 19, of Milton Road, Southampton. Failed to comply with parole conditions. Fined £50, and ordered to pay £50 costs.
  • PETER MICHAEL JOSEPH MAGUIRE, 51 of Calmore Drive, Calmore, New Forest. Pleaded guilty to criminal damage and committing an offence while already serving a suspended sentence. Given a 12-week prison sentence, suspended for two years. Ordered to pay £85 victim surcharge, and £40 costs.
